TOM BEAUCHAMP, CPA
Mr. Beauchamp is a Partner at Surge Private Equity. He primarily heads up transactions in the business services and online businesses industry verticals. Mr. Beauchamp serves on the board of Busy Bee Cleaning Services, Global Bakeries, and Access Dental.
Prior to joining Surge, he was employed at glendonTodd Capital LLC, a private equity firm focused on technology-enabled business services and healthcare. While at glendonTodd, Mr. Beauchamp was responsible for leading pitches to the investment committee for current and prospective investments. Prior to joining glendonTodd, he worked on the hedge and private equity fund analysis team for Highland Capital Management L.P., a global alternative investment firm. He began his career as an Audit Associate at KPMG LLP.
Mr. Beauchamp received a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master's of Accountancy from Baylor University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Originally from Houston, Mr. Beauchamp enjoys the market, poker, and exercising.
Mr. Sharp is a Partner at Surge Private Equity. He primarily heads up transactions in the healthcare industry. Mr. Sharp serves on the board of Busy Bee Cleaning Services, Global Bakeries, and Access Dental.
Prior to joining Surge, he worked for The Halifax Group, a private equity firm managing over $1 billion in committed capital focused on investing into healthcare, business services, and transportation / logistics industry verticals. Prior to joining Halifax, Mr. Sharp was a healthcare services investment banker at Raymond James where he worked on sell-side advisory, initial public offering, and debt financing engagements.
Mr. Sharp earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Vanderbilt University. Originally from Kansas City, he supports the Royals, plays golf, and enjoys traveling in his spare time.
Mr. Botticella is an operating partner at Surge Private Equity. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer of Surge’s Global Bakeries LLC, a 40-year-old specialty foods business in LA.
Mr. Botticella is a well-known titan of industry in the Baking sector having managed over a billion dollars of P&L during his 30+ years of experience in the space at the highest tiers serving well-known customers such as McDonald's, Kroger, Hostess, and Trader Joes. Previously, he worked as the Vice President of Operations for Mile Hi Bakery in Denver. Before that he worked at Best Harvest Bakeries, East Balt Commissary, Bimbo Bakeries, and Weston Bakeries.
He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Pepperdine University. In his spare time, Mr. Botticella enjoys gardening and soccer.
Mr. Fukuhara is an Operating Partner at Surge Private Equity. Currently, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Surge’s Busy Bee Cleaning Service. He previously ran Effectivo Management Consulting LLC.
Prior to that, Mr. Fukuhara was based in Brazil from 2011 until 2016, executing, as CEO, the successful turnaround of a 250-employee provider of structural composite materials and services. That operational experience, combined with a strong 16-year track record in equity capital markets with top global investment banks in NYC and Sao Paulo, have given him an unique and solid blend of operations, strategy and finance expertise.
Mr. Fukuhara graduated in Computer Engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, received an MBA in Finance from Insper – Sao Paulo and has taken several Executive Education Courses at Harvard, Stanford and Cornell. He is an avid cyclist and triathlete.
Dr. Phan is an operating partner at Surge Private Equity. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer at Access Dental.
Dr. Phan is the founder and CEO of Access Dental. He started the company in 2007 and has built a platform that provides dental services to many underserved communities in Texas. He has developed Access into a multi-specialty practice which facilitates various specialties including orthodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, pediatrics and sedation.
He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis and a Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Phan enjoys every minute he spends with his two children.
Mr. Kopelman is an Operating Partner at Surge Private Equity. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer of Surge’s Hippodrome Services LLC, a 20 year old commercial laundry business servicing 4 and 5 star hotels in Manhattan.
Prior to that, Mr. Kopelman was CEO of Bal-Togs, a domestic dance and team apparel manufacturer based in northern New Jersey. During his tenure, he oversaw the implementation of Lean Six-Sigma policies, resulting in increased production capacity, reduced waste, and ultimately added profits. He also was the point person on the sale of Bal-Togs to Augusta Sportswear, a portfolio company of Kelso & Co., achieving a high multiple due to the companies’ manufacturing and operational expertise.
Mr. Kopelman graduated cum laude from Cornell University with a degree in Applied Economics and Management (AEM), and a specialization in Finance. In his spare time, he is an avid runner.
Mr. Wright is an Associate at Surge Private Equity. He primarily leads deal origination across all industry verticals and provides support for portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Surge, he was employed as an Analyst for Shell Exploration and Production Company. Before that, he worked as an Analyst for the Philip M. Dorr Investment Fund, a student-led portfolio valued at over $7MM. During his time there, Mr. Wright was responsible for overseeing the Information Technology sector. Prior to that, he worked as an Analyst for glendonTodd Capital LLC, a Dallas-based private equity firm.
Mr. Wright graduated cum laude from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting. He is currently pursuing his CPA. Originally from Dallas, he enjoys traveling the world, playing basketball, and reading.
